Selena Marie Gomez (/s@'li:n@ Gomez/s@-LEE-n@ GOHmez born on 22 July 1992) is an American actor, singer, and producer. Gomez began her acting career on the television show for children called Barney & Friends (2002-2004). She gained fame as Alex Russo, a teenage character on the Disney Channel television show Wizards of Waverly Place (2007-12). Alongside her television career, Gomez appeared in the films Another Cinderella Story (2008), Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie (2009), Ramona and Beezus (2010), Monte Carlo (2011), Spring Breakers (2012), Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising (2016), and The Dead Don't Die (2019) and as Mavis in the Hotel Transylvania film franchise (2012-2022). Gomez via July Moon Productions, executive produced 13 Reasons Why (2017-2022) and Living Undocumented (1919). In addition, she is the executive producer and appears in the HBO Max cooking series Selena + Chef (2020-2022) and the Hulu comedy show Only Murders in the Building (2021-present). Gomez received critical praise for the latter series, as well as nominations for a Golden Globe Award and a Primetime Emmy Award. All three albums were certified as gold by the Recording Industry Association of America. They comprise Kiss & Tell (2009) and A Year Without Rain (2010). Her first solo album, Stars Dance (2013) was a top album on the U.S. Billboard 200, and its first single "Come and Get It" reached the top ten on the US Billboard Hot 100. Gomez's second studio album, Revival (2015), debuted at the top of the charts in the US it was certified platinum by the RIAA and produced three US top ten hits: "Good for You", "Same Old Love", "Hands to Myself". The third album of her studio, Rare (2020), became her third consecutive number one album in the US, and its lead track, "Lose You to Love Me", her first number-one song in the US and Canada. In 2021, she debuted the Spanish-language EP Revelacion and received a nomination for the Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Album.
