Lita Rossana Ford, popularly known as Lita Ford, is a British-born American musician, vocalist and songwriter, who was the lead guitarist in the all-girl hard rock band, The Runaways, in the mid 1970s.Their music and their rebellious lyrics helped them get noticed in the rock world. Though the band didn't have much success in the United States, they were hugely popular overseas. This was especially true in Japan. Ford began a solo heavy-metal career following the breakup of her band in 1979. Following lessons in voice and releasing her own debut album "Out for Blood" and followed it up with "Dancin at the Edge". Ford went off the scene for a few months after the albums failed to make it into the charts. The hit album Lita, released in 1989, served as the catalyst for her comeback. The hit single, 'Kiss Me Deadly' and the ballad "Close My Eyes Forever" were huge hits. Unfortunately, her success was not long-lasting after which she was absent from the music industry for many years. The release of "Black" in 1995 was followed by the album 'Wicked Wonderland', a little over 15 years after. The album she released in 2016, titled 'Time Capsule. The singer was honored with The Certified Guitar Legend Award by the Guitar Player Magazine.
